Marc Manela, 95, of Fair Lawn, died Saturday, May 6th, at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Born in Kielce, Poland, he was a Holocaust survivor who immigrated to the United States in 1948. He was a foreman at Madison Silk Mfg Co. for many years and he began his own company, Madison Fabrics, 40 years ago. Marc, who attended college after his children were grown, graduated from Montclair State University, where he earned a Master's Degree in Economics. He is survived by two daughters, Marlene (John) Sincaglia and Jacqueline (Jerry) Novin; brother Willy Manela, brothers-in-law Chalom, Marcel, and Albert (Lynne) Fremder; grandchildren Teddy Novin, Kristi Novin, and Matthew and Brittany Sincaglia; two great-grandchildren, Ainsley Novin and Marc Sincaglia, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Harriette and grandson Zachary Novin. Funeral services will be held at Robert Schoem’s Menorah Chapel on Monday, May 8th at 11:00 AM in Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations can be made to the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps. or any charity of your choice.
