Lucille Golden passed away peacefully at The Jewish Home at Rockleigh on October 8, 2017 at the age of 93. Born in the Bronx on June 24, 1924 as Lucille Kalish, Lucy (as she was lovingly known) graduated from Hunter College High School, then married and raised a family – first in the Bronx and later in Fair Lawn, NJ.
In her 40s, Lucy earned a B.A. in English Literature from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She worked as a lecturer for Weight Watchers and the American Lung Association, enthusiastically helping others to lose weight and quit smoking. She also derived great satisfaction from her longtime participation in Overeaters Anonymous.
Lucy was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Henry Golden, and their baby daughter, Arlene. She is survived by her sons, Mark and Ken, her daughters, Linda and Diane, her twelve beloved grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel in Paramus, NJ on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 11:00 am.
