Stanley Joel Haspel of Woodland Park, New Jersey passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, November 6th, on what was his 85th birthday. Born on November 6th, 1931 in the Bronx, New York, he was the first son of the late Irving and Lillian Haspel. He was the elder brother to Barbara Haspel Habif and the late Dr. Lawrence Haspel.
During the summer of 1957, Stanley met his long time love, companion and wife of 57 years, Elaine. The couple married on September 19th, 1959.
A graduate of the City College of New York, following his honorable discharge from military service, Stanley received his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School. He went on to practice law for the next 45 years, with the majority of his work serving as house counsel at the advertising agency of Wells Rich Greene, Inc.
A man of compassion and love, Stanley was also known for his strong will, broad knowledge, sound judgment and wisdom. A lover of jazz and classical music, he also enjoyed collecting artwork and model trains. He enjoyed travel and was an ardent follower of politics.
Stanley is survived by his wife Elaine, his sister, Barbara, his three children, Marc, Scott, and Samantha, their spouses, Susan, Julie, and Adam, as well as seven grandchildren, Rachel, Jonathan, Amanda, Jonah, Morgan, Lily and Taylor.
His funeral will take place Tuesday, November 8th, at 11:00 AM at Robert Schoem’s Menorah Chapel (Paramus, NJ) with interment to follow at Cedar Park Cemetery, located at: 735 Forest Avenue. Paramus, NJ 07652.
