After a long and valiant struggle due to complications of a stroke, “Larry”, 84, died peacefully at Villa Marie Claire Hospice (Saddle River, NJ) on April 3rd, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years, Cynthia (nee Bograd); children Peter (Gloria), Michael (Bonnie) Nancy (James) and his five grandchildren David, Charles, Ally, Bari and Jake.
Larry was a resident of Wyckoff, NJ. Larry graduated from New York University, Stern School of Business. A tenacious self-starter with strong business acumen, he, along with his brothers, created and developed ‘United Wire Hanger Industries’. He served as CEO and President for 50 years, employing 250 people who began the journey with him, many who are still there today!
Philanthropy was close to his heart as he dedicated support to many civic and charitable organizations - be they in NJ, NY or Israel. He loved travel, fine dining and sports. He could often be found on the golf course and card room at Preakness Hills Country Club (Wayne, NJ), where he was a longstanding member. Larry was a devoted family man to his children, grandchildren and friends – always being there. He will be sorely missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, April 5th at Robert Schoem’s Menorah Chapel (Paramus, NJ). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: JDRF.
