Daniel Goldfarb, aged 92, of Springfield, New Jerseypassed away on July 14, 2017 after a prolonged hospitalization. Dan was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1925 to the late Samuel Goldfarb and Lillian Goldfarb (nee Turkenitch). Following graduation from high school, he served in the US Army during World War II in Italy and North Africa. In 1955, Dan founded Dan’s Camera in Elizabeth, New Jersey. At the store, he sold cameras and other photographic equipment and provided photofinishing services. He operated Dan’s Camera for over 50 years until his retirement in 2010. Dan was an avid tennis player, sports fan and reader. He also greatly enjoyed cruises and other travel. Dan is survived by his loving sons and grandchildren: Steven Goldfarb, his wife Debbie and their sons Samuel and Maxwell of Wyckoff; son Joe Goldfarb, his wife Debbie and their sons Scott and Eric of Springfield; son Eugene Goldfarb, his wife Denise and their daughters Hanna and Jamie of Whitehouse Station; step-son Jeffrey Gross, his wife Paula, and their sons Shane, Aidan and Ethan of Pennington. He is also survived by his brother Norman Philips and his wife Genie of Boynton Beach, Florida. Dan is survived by his first wife Claire Mayer of Morristown and was predeceased by his second wife, Adrienne Goldfarb. Funeral services will be held at Robert Schoem’s Menorah Chapel (Paramus, NJ) at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 18th.
