Elinor Donalds Schocket, aged 84, a long time resident of Fair Lawn, New Jersey, passed away on August 1, 2017 after a brief illness. Born in 1933 to the late Benjamin and Minnie Horowitz, Elinor spent her early years in NYC, then moved to NJ where she spent the better part of 60 years.
After graduating the University of Connecticut, Elinor practiced accounting and spent many years working with some of the great restaurateurs in NYC.
Elinor and her husband, the late Harold Schocket, were partners in life and in business as owners of a privately-held accounting firm. Elinor had a zest for life, enjoyed traveling and socializing with friends and family.
Elinor is survived by her loving children Beth Donalds and her husband Howard Williams, Bennett Donalds and fiancé Linda Degenhardt, and Eileen Levin and her husband Leonard Levin; and her loving grandchildren David Levin, Robin Karp and Amy Both as well as 7 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 11:00 am at Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel, located at W - 150 Route 4, Paramus, NJ. Burial to follow at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Make A Wish Foundation.
