Eric Lloyd "Northman" Krantz, 77 of Lake George, NY died suddenly Tuesday, March 27, 2018.
Born July 13, 1940 in Brooklyn NY to David and Florence Krantz, Eric attended Martin Van Buren High School and studied Philosophy at Queens College, City University of New York.
A retired Financial Consultant with Smith Barney, Eric was a former marathon runner and lifelong athlete. He enjoyed being outdoors - particularly biking, birding, kayaking, and cross-country skiing.
Eric journaled, wrote poetry and loved to hear his submitted jokes and puzzle answers broadcast on NPR. He also loved volunteering and mentoring in his beloved Lake George community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Howard, and his wife Joan. He is survived by his sister Carol Zuckerman, children Stefanie Vanderbeck, wife of Rick; Jordan Krantz, husband of Kristina, Kenneth Krantz, husband of Meredith; stepchildren Dennis Gilbert, husband of Nancy, Deborah Urso, wife of Michael, and Steven Gilbert; grandchildren Daniel and William Gilbert, Jaden Urso, Shayna and Max Vanderbeck, Jordan and Jayden Denny, Lyla Krantz, and Noah Gilbert. He is also survived by Dr. Cheryl Tucker and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, April 2 at Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel at 150 NJ-4, Paramus, NJ. Burial to follow at Cedar Park /Beth El Cemetery at 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ.
