After a one year courageous and heroic battle with Pancreatic Cancer, Roie Some passed away peacefully on Sunday 8/15/2021, with the love of his life, his wife Sharon by his side. He was born on 12/14/1956 to Stanley and Pnina Blatt Some in Tel Aviv Israel
He graduated Ruietgers College in 1979 with a degree in Computer Science. He started his career as a Main Frame Programmer and whenever there was a new technology to learn, Roie was right there ready to learn it. He always felt one should be up to date with what was going on with technology. He never flaunted his extraordinary intelligence, and he was able to explain anything to anyone on whatever level necessary. He was a great teacher and mentor and always saw potential in everyone, especially in those who may not have seen it in themselves. He lived by two philosophies: "Do it right the first time..." and "Strive for excellence, not perfection!"
While some may have had a cocktail to relax with when they came home from work, Roie would come home, change his clothes and head down to the basement to "make sawdust" and create things in his wood-shop. He claimed his level of experience was beginner but his craftsmanship and precision was hardly that of a beginner!
He is survived by his wife Sharon. F. Yampell, his mother Pnina Some, his Uncle Norm and Aunt Barbara Some, his brothers Rafi and Dani Some, and his sister Roni Some. Donations may be made in Roie's memory to Abramson Cancer Center https://www.pennmedicine.org/cancer/giving
