Sheryl Mae Fabi passed away on April 9, 2020 at Hackensack University Medical Center at the age of 67 from complications of COVID-19. Sheryl resided in Fair Lawn, New Jersey for nearly 38 years.

She was born Sheryl Mae Mankofsky on July 28, 1952 in the Bronx, New York and was a member of the 1970 graduating class of the High School of Art and Design in New York City. She completed her undergraduate degree at Queen's College and graduate work at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She worked as an art teacher, a special education teacher and also a religious school educator. She retired from her professional work in the mid 2000's and spent the remainder of her life focused on her family and close friends.

She was a fierce advocate for her family, who were the center of her universe. Sheryl raised three sons and two step-sons. Her heart and home was always open for anyone who needed a safe haven. She is survived by her brothers Steven Mankofsky and Paul Mankfosky, her sons Matthew Levy and his wife Jennifer Lee Levy, Daniel Levy, Jordan Fabi and his wife Danielle Fabi, and stepsons Michael Fabi and Angelo Fabi and his wife Katie Fabi as well as grandchildren Madeline Levy, Amalya Levy, Dante Fabi, Francesca Fabi, and Valentina Fabi. She was predeceased by her father Murray, 1996 and her mother Bernice, 2005, and husband Angelo Fabi, 2000.

Everyone who met Sheryl was instantly drawn to her warm and gregarious personality. She emulated a generosity second to none and taught her children the meaning of unconditional love. To her children and grandchildren she will be remembered as "Cookie," the name bestowed upon her by grandchildren, which she proudly used. She instilled a set of values and traits in her children and grandchildren that will be passed on for generations to come.We take great comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain or suffering. She will be missed beyond words, but never forgotten. She will always be with us.

She will be laid to rest following a in private service on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at the George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. A memorial service for friends and family will be announced at a later date. The family will receive those wishing to pay a shiva call via zoom meeting in the evening of Wednesday April 15, 2020 at 7pm.
