Thelma Springer died peacefully in her home on September 13, 2021, in Paramus, NJ. Thelma is survived by her daughter Michelle Doughty and her husband Glenn, and her grandsons Brian and Joseph.

Thelma was born in the Bronx, NY on February 28, 1929, to Max and Betty Erlich. Living with her older sister, the late Marion Eilbert, and her younger brother, Alex Erlich, Thelma attended Hunter College earning a degree in psychology. While at college she met her first husband, the pre-deceased Maurice Delit, and the couple had two daughters; the late Phyllis Delit, and Michelle Doughty. Thelma continued her education at Seton Hall University where she earned a degree in Rehabilitation Counseling.

Thelma was the Clinical Director for 20 years at Friendship House, where she met her second husband, the late Donald Springer, with who she spent many wonderful years traveling the world. Thelma was involved locally with the League of Women Voters, and the Paramus Environmental Commission. Thelma was an active member of the Jewish Community Center of Paramus.

Shiva will be observed at Thelma's house on Friday starting at noon.
