David Alcheh of Mountainside, NJ, husband of the late Rae Alcheh, passed away unexpectedly on April 15, 2022, at the age of 94. Born on November 24, 1927, in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Sophie and Samuel Alcheh and brother of the late Celia Zane and Victor Alcheh.
Dave lived in the Bronx throughout his childhood and most of his adult life. He met his future wife, Rae Weiner, at the Tamiment Resort in the Poconos. They were married on September 27, 1959 and were inseparable for 62 years until Rae’s death in November 2021. Rae and Dave raised their daughters, Linda and Michele, in the Bronx, eventually moving to Iselin, NJ, in 2001 and to Mountainside, NJ in 2019.
Dave is survived by his loving family: Linda Kaplan (daughter) and Jay Kaplan (son-in-law) of Westfield, NJ; Michele Ruttenberg (daughter) and David Ruttenberg (son-in-law) of Norwalk, CT; and his five grandchildren, Amy, Brian, and Alex Kaplan and Jordan and Alison Ruttenberg. He will always be in our hearts as a beloved and loving father, grandfather and uncle who cared about family and was always quick with a smile, a story, and a joke.
