Simone ‘Mommom’ Tencer, beloved wife of the late Leo Tencer, passed away unexpectedly on April 19th, 2022 in Delray Beach, Florida at the age of 89. Born November 25th, 1932 in Paris, France, Simone was the daughter of Isaac and Hannah Moucatel and sister of Robert Moucatel.
In 1957, after surviving the Holocaust and losing her entire family, Simone traveled to the United States where she lived with her uncle and two cousins. She graduated from Rockaway High School and worked as a Bookkeeper. Simone met the love of her life, Leo Tencer, in the summer of 1956 and married just a few months later. They had two beautiful daughters, Amy and Jill, and moved to New Jersey where they lived for over 30 years. The Tencer household was always filled with laughter and lots of love.
While Leo passed away in 2000, Simone continued to travel around the world, attend Broadway shows and never miss a family event. She will always be in our hearts as an adored and loving mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend who lived her life to the fullest. Simone is survived by her daughters, Amy and Jill, her son-in-law, Glenn, her grandchildren, Jonathan, Hali, and Lilie, and her two great-grandchildren, Leon and P.J.
