John Charles Laposky
Saturday, 17 December 1966 - Wednesday, 11 April 2018
Funeral Date: Sunday, 15 April 2018

John Laposky – techonology reporter, dad, home chef, baseball coach -- died suddenly on April 11, 2018, at age 51.

Born in Pennsylvania on December 17, 1966, Laposky attended Bethlehem Catholic High School and Lehigh University. At school, John majored in journalism, wrote for the Brown and White, hosted a radio show on WLVR, and was a brother of Phi Sigma Kappa.
John was a journalist, most recently editor in chief of TWICE Magazine. He produced the consumer electronics publication, its website, and continued to foster the CES Daily. He covered the annual international Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas for 23 years, with excitement and wonder for the possibilities of new technology.

John embraced his life fully, with a deep curiosity and eagerness to share his passions with others. Among them were all things baseball. A disciplined and learned fan with unwavering allegiance to the Phillies and a dedicated fantasy league competitor for nearly 3 decades, John's love of game was epitomized in his involvement with Berkeley Heights baseball. John proudly drew upon his lifelong study as he passionately coached his sons and their friends (regardless of the uniform they wore.) Wherever he went, John brought people together through his cooking, his vast music knowledge, and his endless good vibes.

John is survived by his love Danielle and their sons, Nate and Joe; mother Bonnie Petkavic; father Jack Laposky; Doyle and Weiner extended family; Phi Sig Brothers; and so many friends.

His funeral will be held on Sunday, April 15, 11:00 a.m., at Schoem's Menorah Chapel, W-150 Route 4 East, Paramus, N.J. 07652.

Memorial donations may be made to Phillies Charities, Inc., the American Heart Association  or the Tipitinas Foundation.
